Ndokwa Neku (NNU), the apex body of Ndokwa-Ukwuani aborigines of Delta state has backed the creation of Anioma state as proposed in a bill by Senator Ned Nwoko,representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

The President-General of Ndokwa Neku, General Mike Ndubisi (rtd), announced this today while hosting Senator Ned Nwoko on a courtesy call at his Ezhionum residence in Ukwuani local local government area.

General Ndubisi said at the meeting attended by Executive members of Ndokwa Neku that the creation of Anioma would be of immense benefit to the entire Ndokwa nation.

General Ndubisi declared:

"On Anioma state we stand.Ndokwa Nation supports Anioma.It is for the good of our people.

"Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko,I wholeheartedly welcome you.Thank you for your love for Ndokwa nation.Your performance at the National Assembly so far has been outstanding and commendable.We will continue to support you in your good works for Anioma people and the Nation"

Addressing the people,Senator Ned Nwoko said he took the consultation on Anioma state creation to Ndokwa land because of the strategic importance of the axis.

He stated that Ndokwa/Ukwuani environment embodies the largest gas deposits in West Africa with huge oil production,yet the most underdeveloped and neglected in the Nigerian federal structure.

Emotion -laden, Senator Nwoko recalled how he once saw goats
co-habiting with humans in an oil rich but remote and squalid Ndokwa village.

Senator Nwoko said he has nothing to gratify agitating for Anioma, but towards freedom and upliftment for the people.He reiterated that the "first governor of Anioma state should come from Ndokwa area.

" I desire Anioma for our common liberty, development and progress .I am not interested to be Anioma Governor.God has blessed me.I seek no validation nor material gain.

I am not the originator of Anioma state creation movement.It started in the 1950s.But I am committed to finish the struggle.Anioma would be created with the support of everyone.

"I have the experience on fighting for the people. I can confidently recall how I attracted London -Paris club loan refunds of 20 billion dollars to the federal state and local governments, which boosted the national economy

"I spent so many years in England for my education and law practice. I understand how the economy works at the global level.

"All countries use their local currencies for transactions.This explains why I initiated another bill making it compulsory that Naira be used for all socio-economic activities.We must ban the payment of expatriates and goods in foreign currencies and eliminate parallel market to make the Naira strong and grow the economy"

Speaking on Service especially to the Ndokwa community, Senator Nwoko said "Okpai electricity Power project, proposal for the establishment of Nigerian Defense Academy in Ndokwa- land, lempowerment programmes as well as advocacy against gas flaring and environmental degradation" were some of his numerous efforts.

The law maker assured the people that he had collated significant data on their needs and challenges for necessary attention from relevant authorities.
