In the wake of political uncertainties greeting the polity in the media, Aniocha South Local Government PDP appears not to be leaving anything to chance.

The Peoples Democratic Party Nsukwa clan, in Aniocha South, has continued its political evangelism as the college of leaders and other leaders of all cadre and indeed the party faithful continued to meet monthly from ward to ward in the clan.



On Saturday, 1st of January, the clan hosted  by Hon Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, congregated in Nsukwa, ward 7. The well attended meeting, began with opening prayer and breaking of colanut.

Leader in the area, Hon Austin Chikezie made ward roll call by voice confirmation, as the deliberations began in Ernest.

Hon Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, the Delta State commissioner for Technical Education , welcomed the clan. He emphasized that the main objective of the clan meeting regularly is to foster a sense of community and ensure there is no room for disintegration. He reiterated the continued efforts of the governor in developing the state that culminated in the award given to the governor as the best performing governor on Infrastructure and financial management by the Thisday newspaper and Arise TV.



Hon Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, emphasized that efforts will continue, to foster unity and commitment by the party in the clan as the objective is to ensure that PDP is the only flourishing party in the clan.

Hon Austin Chikezie, admonished on the need for continued unity to achieve the new set objective . Hon Chikezie who is also the Chairman of Board, Delta State broadcasting Service Asaba, encouraged the party to remain committed and those who the party empowered, to find it noble to make good case for the party and to show appreciation rather than betrayal.



Hon Collins Iwebunor appreciated the college of leaders for the efforts in making the party in the clan a community that is bonding. He encouraged the commissioner for Technical Education, Hon Smart Ijeoma Ufoh to continue in his efforts.
Hon Iwebunor, who is the Executive Director ICT Delta State Board of internal revenue, discouraged ambivalence, where party leaders have difficulty with decision making bordering anti party.

Chief Innocent Okofu, member Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission, commended the college of leaders and made  case for accommodation that ensures that people find progression in leadership.

Hon Emma Sorokwu, former Local government council chairman and executive assistant to the governor, made case for continued unity and to continue to court the few who have not come up to speed.

Chief Gerry Ossai, former commissioner and Local government chairman made case for collectively assisting the wards within the clan that are not pulling weight.



Barr Afam OCHEI, gave glowing appreciation to the college of leaders in the clan for their efforts in renewed direction of the party in the clan. He however stressed the need to direct efforts towards building the party and to show temperance in ambition, as that will detail the principal objective of the party.

Hon Mrs Patricia Adolue, the vice chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Council thanked the leadership of the clan for their understanding and cooperation and for putting the interest of the clan at the centre stage. Hon Adolue maintained that the clan is getting it right and the prospects is looking bright.

Comrade Benjamin Nduka Okocha, a local government chairmanship aspirant gave commendation for the efforts of the leaders and pleaded support for leadership for the good of the party. The finance expert also made case for continued efforts in communality.

Princes Vivian Dennis-Nweke, Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth mobilisation, thanked the commissioner and the leadership of the clan for the new love and unity within the clan.

Comrade Jeffrey Onwusah, the ward chairman of ward 7, thanked and encouraged the leadership. He made case for the leadership to create opening and pathways for the youth to grow in the party with effective mentoring.

The high points of the meeting was the move for vote of confidence on the Governor by Barrister Afam OCHEI and seconded by Mr Nduka Okocha, and the reading out of the communique which among other things emphasized the vote of implicit confidence on the governor of the state, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori and Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, by Hon Austin Chikezie.
